ePals and Google Map

Hi girls! I was brainstorming ideas for our ePals assignment. We could compare climates with another group of students in Africa, or Europe or any other country really just as long as it's a different kind of climate than our own. Let me know if you guys have any ideas, I have to work all day tomorrow and on sunday. But I'll try to get on tonight and again Sunday night to make sure everything is done.
Thanks!

  1. The type of assignment that we would do to demonstrate global awareness and cultural understanding would be to have students from our class have the opportunity to compare the weather of the current weather with a student from another region’s weather. The students will be in groups of four and each group with communicate with a different region in the world. There will be a list of regions (schools) that the students can choose from. They will work and focus specifically on their region and connect with the students once on Monday and once on Friday about the weather. The students will have a set amount of time to discuss the weather including things like the humidity, precipitation as well as what it has been like the past couple days. The students will need to learn how the other student learns about what the weather is going to be and what types of technology they have (if any). They can also discuss ideas about what they wear and other things that involve the weather in their region. The information they get from the student will be put into an end of the unit project about the weather of the students region in comparison to the weather of the other students region.

  3. yea...I don't know. I think we're supposed to pick the places the students will compare with and have like arrows pointing from where we are to where they are comparing.
